Friendships...My Friends...

Recently I have realised i have not been meeting up/ chatting often
with my JC group of sisters. Probably I was closer to my Sec Sch mates
when we were preparing for her marriage, then also with Meiyan busy
with her studies and tuition, Sharon busy with school, Suling busy with
work, and Tanlin busy with her tuition..Sigh...I feel somehow I am a
bit distanced from you guys, and hopin that we can bring in our
frienship closer soon...

We should try to keep in touch more often, other than reading updates on each other's blog k?

Plaza Park Royal Hotel @ Beach Road- 3rd Nov 2006

Today we went to finalize on our wedding banquet with Plaza Park Royal
Hotel @ Beach Road, and basically we have finally booked the Plaza
Ballroom for our Wedding Day on 3rd Nov 2006 (Fri).

The discussion process was quite smooth, and the perks that she has
given us are quite satisfactory. Moreoever, its within our budget, why
not? We can also have spa treatments after our wedding at their St
Gragory's spa...Shiok! Got discount for us as well!! Double Shiok!!

Actually our min request of no. of tables cannot fulfil the
requirements of the Plaza Ballroom (which is the bigger one). But it
happened that she had committed to us, and yet the Stamford Room
(smaller room) got booked, that's why she is agreeable to let us have
the Plaza Ballroom at the same quantity no. of tables, which is good
for us!

On top of that, she even treated us and my parents-in-law to free
buffet dinner at the cafe! wo...we din expect that siah! Of cuz the 2
parents are very happy, and satisfied with our choice..Hiak Hiak...

So..one lesser item to worry...and we shall start movin on to the rest of the wedding plans...

Marriage Preparation Course Part 1

Date:18th Nov 05 (Sat)

Venue: Midlink Plaza - Academy of Human Resource Development

Today is the 1st part of our marriage preparation course organized by
Fei Yue Community Services and MCYS. Initially I was filled with
excitement and was looking forward to this course, but then when I saw
Dear who was quite tired and bored during the first few parts, I really
wondered if I had "forced" him to come and resulting unsatisfaction
from him. A bit moody at first...
Also for our first part of couple discussion, he dun seem to make much
efforts in writing his "Love Declaration" while I wrote a lot on it! So
in the end, the lecturer asks us to discuss on the priority factors
that we find important to us, we din discuss much cuz he din even write
any much on it!

Luckily gradually there was some improvement and Dear did make more
efforts and we share of our own views of "Our Marriage" and "Ideal
Marriage" through drawings. It was quite fun as we have to present to
the class. As usual, his version is a simple kind, but always wont fail
to make the class laugh. We bring our drawings back with us and we will
keep it for memorial.

Also, we discuss about our individual goals, couple goals and family
goals. For our individual goals, we r totally different, but I am glad
that for the other 2 types, ours are quite similar This shows that we think alike for our future plans.

One part of the course is to us "I" instead of "You" in our
conversation for an unhappy instance, we infer from our recent quarrel
that we had. It enables us to clear up the misunderstanding and also
understand more from the other party's point of view, and we felt
better after that.

Probably have to try practising using more of "I" instead of "You" in the future.

We also discuss about "communication", and one part of it is
"appreciation". Then the lecturer asks us to tell each other of how we
appreciate each other, and I felt quite touched and happy hearing from
him.

The last part is to do the evaluation  test called "FOCUS", which
would reflect feelings about our own self and the other person. The
test results will be out next session. Let's see how it goes! Hope we
will have better progression from here!

From then till now...

Journey of Wedding Preparations

I accompanied Teris from the start of her wedding preparations,
beginning from trying of gowns, discussing with the wedding studio,
selection of wedding shoes, choosing of wedding favours, making trips
down to meet the OCC wedding coordinator, then also to meeting up with
the sisters to discuss her Hen's nite preparation, actual wedding day
preparation etc... The past few months I have been happily,
satisfactory, busy with all these preparation stuffs with her...I am
very very glad that I walked with her thru' this journey, especially
when her husband was not in Singapore to settle all these things with
her, and it really brought us much much closer than previous days...

Friendships - New Friendships and Closer Old Bondings

From this whole process of wedding preparation with her, I have got to
know new friends - Candice Yong and Adeline Lee, and their respective
boyfriends, not forgetting Ziqing lah! The older group of friends - Ah
Bao, Wanling, and especially Huijing, we forge a closer bond with each
other as we know we have to there for one another when Teris is not
physically with us the next time round. Hujing and Teris has always
been the best of friends ever since Sec Sch days, and no one can
replace either of them. But I will try to give Huijing my best support
and friendship as well

For the new friends we have got to know, we shall keep in contact and meet up for coffee or dinner k?

New Beginnings, New Life

Despite that I do miss her loud and crazy laughter, her "Wah Lau" all
over the place, and her Blur Blur look, I am really happy for her that
she is finally not lonely when she's flying over to Holland, finally
there is Jeroen accompanying her during transit, and time will not be
lonely anymore. Finally she can go hand-in-hand with her hubby and not
just seeing her friends in pairs...Finally she will have a home of her
own, her new life, a new beginning....

During her wedding day, after interacting with her in-laws and
sister-in-law, I can rest assured that she will be well taken care of,
and will also b as happy there...

I can see the bliss and happiness in her...So deep down, I am still happy for her...

*Note: I will try my best to save $$$ to go Holland to visit you ok?

Do take good care of yourself and do keep us updated with you life. Get a blog lah! Upload photos more often.Hee...

Teris and Jeroen's Farewell Dinner

We know she'll have free time to try out cooking once she reach Holland, so give her 2 receipe books (Dim Sum & Pastry) to try out lah!

Mr and Mrs Jeroen Van De Bros treated the Xiong Dis and Jie Meis for Thank-You cum Farewell Dinner @ Sizzler (Suntec). That was where we had our first meeting together as Brothers and Sisters, and now we came to the final rounding up at the same place, but now becoming closer and had more jokes and laughter around...Its really a good thing to have more friendship and to know more things throught the conversation.

I do hope our friendship will not die down, and still keep alive even thou Teris is faraway....

Teris Big Day on 12th Nov 2005

The 2 cute couple bear (Me-To-U) are gifts from us on her Birthday

It's my best buddy's Big Day on 12th Nov 2005. I m sure most of the photos Adeline and Candice Yong (View under My Multiply Network) had uploaded, so I am uploading a few of my own collections. Hee..I enjoyed myself the whole day and I am really happy, happy for Teris...

The Eve of the Big Day was spent on buying the food items to sabo the Xiong Dis (But little do we know that my closest Dear actually sell me out leh! He peeked into my email and disclose our secret!)

On The Big Day, all of us wake up early, and feeling nauseous as we all din slp well the nite before. There was thunder and rain, and I dun really like the weather for the start lor. Lucky for our bride, its back to sunny weather when its time to head off to her Church Wedding.

The Church Wedding was quite some time, but its meaningful to Teris and Jeroen, right? We love the finger foods! I managed to catch the flowers that Teris throw to us! & i was so happy! Geez...

The Dinner @ The Orchid Country Club was still ok, except we find their wedding coordinator/planner are quite bad and inefficient. So Think Twice before you want to choose that place for Wedding Banquet k? We manage to pull through successfully the whole banquet and all was glad it was done nicely.

We had great talk with Jeroen's parents while sending them back to the hotel, and I love them! I believe they will take good care of Teris which is a great relief for us.

I hope my wedding can be as beautiful as well. Hopefully My Dear Teris can attend my wedding too...Duno if she will carry a small one in her arms?hiak hiak...

Hen's nite for my best friend

We celebrated my best fren, Teris's Hen's nite on 2nd Nov 2005, at
Changi Village Le Meridien Hotel. The 7 of us, including our group and
her poly frens, had a fun time laughing, joking, talking and of cuz,
taking photos! We bought games and wine along, but in the end, we din
play or make her drunk. Love her and dote on her too much that we din
sabo her lah!  Consider her lucky lah! Haha...

Very soon she will have her wedding on upcoming saturday, and then will
be flying off to Holland to stay after that. Very soon I will miss
her...The badminton games will be less enjoyable without her craziness
and hearty laughter...She has always been our main character in our
group.

Will share with you all for her wedding next week!
