Fish Leung's Concert - 29 Dec 2007

This is my 3rd concert, over the past few years, and the 1st one which touches me.. and which I enjoyed myself the most... The songs that Fish Leung belts out are the familiar love songs which we will always dedicate and sing in KTV rooms..in bathroom... on the way to work... in the car...

The song that makes me cry is "Fen shou kuai le" cuz I thot of friends around me who have been hurt recently on the road of love, and many times I wan to sing this song to them, to comfort them, to encourage them, but I do not dare as I do not wan to add salt to their wounds.. But glad to say that they have walked out of their darkness path, and have their own new partner to walk with them...

The special guest appearance is Ah Xin from MayDay - Dear's fav band..Of cuz he very happy lah...We enjoyed ourselves very much, together with another 2 couples' companion.

Next is Jacky Cheung's concert.. hope it has the same emotional impact on me...

A Meaningful Early New Yr's Gathering with the Sisters

We had a belated X'mas 2007 and pre-New Year 2008 Dinner @ The Amara Hotel - The Elements Restaurant on 30 Dec 2007.

The atmosphere was good, the food was marvellous and most importantly, the bonding time was most memorable...We shared laughter, exchanged gifts and of cuz' heart-to-heart talk.. What touched me the most for that night (I even got abit teary), is my well-wishes for my beloved fellow sisters... I hope they still remember what I have wished them and most importantly is, the wishes will come true for all of us...

May 2008 be a good and smooth year ahead for all of us...

Primary School Chums X'mas Gathering

It's amazing... We have the record of 15 years of friendship between the 5 of us.. the longest being with Susan - total of 18 years cuz I knew her since Pri 1...

Very blessed to have this close group of friends who I still keep in close contact with..especially Eve as we work near each other..

Post X'mas gathering was held at my place as Qixi and Jean have not seen my new house yet... Moreover I had X'mas tree at my place, so it creates a X'mas feel for the gathering ya! haha... More photos with Suz's camera... Just these for sharing..

Love u guys....

I love X'mas because...

1. Our X'mas Tree & the wonderful pressies!

I always love to gaze at our X'mas tree and looking at the X'mas lights shining...It feels so warm at heart just having our own X'mas tree in our own house... Dun forget the pressies that we spread them all under the tree! However the wrapped-pressies get lesser as we give them to our family and friends, then the tree looks bare. Hahaha...Nevertheless, the unwrapped-pressies also got more as we receive them from family and friends. Afterall, its a season of Giving and Sharing right?

This year we received a lot of "surprise" gifts. Why are they referred as "surprise" gifts? Cuz' normally from the outlook of the gifts, we will thought and believe that gift is a certain item, however after opening up, we realise its something else and better! Most importantly they are mostly useful items. We love the "surprise" element that the gifts gave us!

2. Family & Friends' Gatherings

This is the season whereby family and friends' gatherings cannot be missed and forgottened. I'd dimsum-lunch with my parents @ Yan Restaurant and got wonderful gifts from them. Thank you Dad, mum & bro! I was telling Dear, I felt very fortunate as I am being doted by so many people close to me... I wanted to treat them for this dimsum-lunch, but both my mum n Dear co-paid for it in the end... I just feel so loved!

On X'mas day itself, we'd potluck lunch with my in-laws and sis-in-law's family members and again another round of gift exchange. Dawn was so happily opening up her share and her sister, Diyan's share of presents... She is ever so clever & cheeky when we played the identify-the-animal-sounds game that we bought for her. Dear prepared his all-time-favourite-and-best-dish: The Yam's Fried Rice! I simply love his fried rice and ate alot to show my support! Hee... I couldn't have my fill of his fried rice yet, so he says he will cook for me again..hee...

For friends' gathering, we went to The Lam's house before X'mas eve and we had steamboat dinner over video-watching & logcake-cutting session. Of cuz' gifts were not forgotten and I thank the friends for their wonderful presents!

Will be having post X'mas gatherings with my primary school mates @ my humble home tomorrow, and my JC chums-cum-sisters on 30th @ Amara Hotel for buffet dinner. Photos will be available after the gatherings. (Of cuz' la! Fei hua! haha...)

3. Beautiful X'mas lightings on the streets

Everytime I passed by the streets along Orchard, I just go "Wow...."  I simply love the X'mas feel that the lightings that it gives me, and the beautiful and spectacular sight that I saw... Very emotional during X'mas... I repeat myself that "I love X'mas" every time of the year and Dear was like " Erm, you have said it for the past few years liao..." haha... X'mas is just different from the rest of the year, and especially with a loved one celebrating with you, you just feel the love in the air! I will still be continuing saying this for the following years to come!

4. Mr & Mrs Santa Claus were here!

Can you believe it? Mr & Mrs Santa Claus were here! They came to our house on X'mas day and hang a bag of gift outside our doorstep! This mysterious Santa Claus couple sms us on the morning when we were still sound asleep, asking if we were at home! haha....Wat a high-tech Santa Claus hor? Thank goodness nobody took the gift away..hee... We love the gift very much, and we love & appreciate the thought of the gift, especially the efforts of coming all the way from "North Pole?" and putting at our doorstep.. Its just like a fairytale coming true and its just so sweet!!! A lovely surprise again, for this festive season.

5. You are here with me, to spend a memorable X'mas Eve...

This year's X'mas Eve is especially so extraordinary and special and touching one.... Dear planned to have us to spend the X'mas @ The Jewel Box (Mt Faber), and wanted to surprise me. But he got busy at work so he asked me to do the enquiry and booking. : / Nevertheless, the thought is there and it doesn't matter that I can help to make the whole thing happen!

X'mas set dinner was real expensive and so we do away with it, being the practical couple. Instead we had a yummylicious yet cheap dinner @ Carl's Junior! Then we made our way up the winding and upslope to Mt Faber... With Dear's 小橙 motorbike, we managed to surpass several cars which are moving at snail's pace. The blue & white lightings were so capivating.. You should take a look at their tallest X'mas tree! Its awesome! Despite it is not a "real tree", it is still a very very magnificent view when we looked up! Got ourselves in by buying the Snacks-&-Drinks tickets, and we got to see X'mas arriving on a sleigh via the cable car tracks, soft Snow falling, and also enjoying the X'mas songs on the top of the mountain...

I looked at Dear, feeling so touched that this man, this very simple and down-to-earth man whom I used to know, can be so lo-mantic at times.. I feel very fortunate that he is always ready to have new ideas in his mind, bringing me to experience many different things in life... I love him so much... I hope we can continue to be lo-mantic even when we grew older... Hee...

Thank you so much for giving me such a special & memorable X'mas Eve..

Merry X'mas Dear...

Life is fragile

Life is very fragile...

Life is attained thru' birth and life is ended thru' death.

New-born babies are symbols of Life while funerals are symbols of death.

Just went to a funeral whereby the death is sudden.

I've come to realise, Life can be short as death could be sudden...

...Cherish yourself, Cherish your loved ones...

Yan's Wedding

Date: 16 Dec 2007 (Sunday)

Event: Yan's Big Day!

Recap: Woke up at 4:30 a.m. to prepare myself for us (the jie-meis) to reach Yan's house around 5-tish...Havn't been waking up in the early wee hours ever since JC schooling days.. not really like it but bobian..hee..Teochew wedding mah.. When we reached her house, she was already all dressed up and ready to be fetched by his husband liao! Pacing up and down the living hall, and showing all signs of anxiousness of whether the husband and his group of xiong-dis are coming soon, she is really not a "patient" bride! haha.. We kept reminding her to be demure, and don't be her usual loud and garang pattern... I am her 贴身丫环 so have to wait inside the room with her.. It was so "pressuring" and hot inside the room as she kept asking me to tell the husband to quickly give in to the jie-meis' requests and quickly come fetch her cuz they have to keep to the auspicious time... I was really caught in-between till I had no choice but to call one of the jie-meis to tell them to get things going... Aiyoyo... Really difficult to be the role leh..haha...
After the morning games, we went to her husband's place and waited for nearly 4-5 hours in his place as she was not allowed to step into outdoors between 9a.m. - 1p.m., and most of the relatives only come around 10-tish for the tea ceremony. Feelin hungry and bored (cuz nothing much to do), the girls went for morning breakfast at Tampines Mall's Mac while the guys went out on their own. Basically we dun like the guys cuz they are childish and ah-bengs, so we dun wan to go out with them! Hmmp! After finishing the breakfast, we went back to her husband's place, and then the bride started to brief us on the dinner's reception duties... Everything has not been briefed to us only till that day itself. So basically the whole day is very 随机应变style. Even for the morning game's hiccup, till the wedding dinner roles, its all last minute being settled. I find it funny that the bride has to busy herself with such things on her big day, which she shouldn't have.

Then everyone started staring into blank space, and tiredness started to sink in cuz everyone woke up so damn early... It was until 12-tish that the groom buay tahan liao, he persuaded Yan to leave the house earlier and return to her house for tea ceremony. That was when we were also finally relieved from our duties and can return home to rest.. Once I reached home and washed up, I fell asleep on the lounge chair... Fell into a very deep sleep...

Dinner was at Tanjong Katong Complex Qian Xi Restaurant. As I was her 贴身丫环, I only need to accompany her when she changed her gown, other time I have free time to catch up with my ex-badminton mates and take photos with my friens.. Not much pressure..hee... Everyone enjoyed themselves and the couple even sang KTV in the restaurant lor! (anyway they are KTV King & Queen mah..its so natural for them to sing on their wedding nite.. ) Sharon and Candy also dedicated song to the couple by singing for them.. *clap clap* They are our singing representatives from the jie-meis...

Wish them a blissful marriage and be loving always...

Yan's Hen's Nite

Celebrated Yan's Hen's nite at Conrad Centennial Hotel with the other jie-meis of her wedding last month. The room was nicely decorated with the efforts of the other jie-meis while I was having my driving lesson... So I contributed nothing..hee... The whole session was sabo-ing her and luckily she was game enuf to carry it well! Firstly we blindfolded her and led her to the nicely-decorated room.. How surprised and excited she got when she undo the blindfold. We gave her a pair of the Mickey & Minnie champagne glass, flown all the way from Hong Kong Disneyland. Then made her wear a green dress (She HATES green!!!!) with a sash of "Bride-to-be" We made her walked around the bustling Suntec City with her pink rabbit ear hairband. People stared at her with curiosity and some was sniggering. There was even one ah-pek who asked to take photo with her lor! Hahaha....

After dinner treat, we went back to the room and had our game of the Truth-or-Dare.. She was all willingly to cooperate with us, giving us juicy details all the way, making all of us so satisfied and enjoying the whole session.

My past week updates

Work: Has been busy and hectic, with one of the colleagues away for off-site training, leaving only 2 of us biah-ing... Many urgent requests from business side, and thus resulting in me running up and down the various floors. And also, with arrangements of new meetings and last minute withdrawals causing a lot of "arrow-shooting" across emails (typical of "Just Follow Law" movie). I am relieved that I am in good hands as my new small boss, ST, has shielded me/our team from the arrows...phew... Talking about my new small boss, I have been "chosen" as his part-time personal assistant and I have never regretted making this choice as he is really the nicest and lovely boss I ever have. Ever ready to teach and guide me, patient, and no temperament, humorous and independent yet willing to listen to what others are saying. Accommodating yet not over-bearing others... Often saw him munching sandwich lunch alone at his desk and doing Sudoku for leisure..I felt bad and jio him out for lunch with another PA and my team supervisor. Had such a great time with him as he is just so nice person...

Personal: Dear just went for his intralase surgery on Wednesday, and thankfully the surgery went fine and he is now recovering well... Initially he felt the pain n blurriness after the surgery, and needs to put on 3 different types of eye drips every hour or two. Dear kept complaining boredom for the past few days of MC as he can't really watch tv/play PSP/ use computer cuz' he needs to rest his eyes more. Then finally on Friday, he helped to do some housework and I was kena teased by the optrometrist that me, being the 管工,  so "cruel", never give me off-day. Hmmp!! 冤枉啊!!! I never ask him to do one hor.. He just felt bored and thought he could do some simple housework since he is so free mah... I am not his 管工 lor! Subsequently things improve and we were able to go for some Xmas shopping on Saturday. Finally bought gifts for our 2 little nieces - Dawn's Xmas gift and Diyan's 满月gift, and also some small gifts for fellow colleagues and friends.. Haven't got chance to finish shopping as we were beat-tired from the constant walking-and-taking of public transport journey..muhaha.. no own transport for these few days till Dear recover more of his vision.

The postman came to deliver my long-awaited driving license on Sat noon but we were out..so only will get to see my license probably later in the week bah...Can't wait to get hold of it! muhahha...

Just finished a whole busy day at Yan's wedding today, and felt a lot of different emotions for the day..Shall blog about it when photos collection is complete. hee..

Till then, keep on waiting la...

My (terrible) Driving Experiences On the Road

After I gotten my (temporary) license last Wed, I have been given few opportunities to drive my MIL's car, as a form of "realistic practices". The 2nd time on the wheels is a real terrible experience! And you know Where & When did I drive? On a SUNDAY evening at LITTLE INDIA (near my place)!! Very very terrible... The roads out from the multi-storey carpark leading to the main road are PACKED with people (Indians mainly) and are lining along the kerbside. And the small roads are real small and squeezy especially after they built the divider.. Oh my god! I almost lang-ga the divider pole when I tried to make left turn cuz I was tryin to avoid the @%#^#$^$ ppl standing on the roadside! Shit lor! Then behind me got a car when I tried to reverse and make corrective action. I was so flustered and confused which way should I turn... I quickly turn to Dear who was sittin beside me... "dear... I duno how..." haha... he quickly give me instructions then help me turn the wheels... Phew! Thot that was the end of my terrible experience.. but then once I reach the main road, even worse....The $#&#&$*%* ppl are jay-walking in GROUPS!!! IN FRONT OF MY CAR SOMEMORE!!! As I go slowly to avoid hitting anyone of them, they kept crossing in batches!!! I was so pissed and angry with them that I show them the unhappy hand gesture (dun worry, my middle finger didn't come out straight away). Bit by bit, inches by inches, I managed to come out of the terribly-congested-with-jaywalkers Serangoon Road.. It was not easy lor.. My dad jokingly remarked, no wonder we took so long to reach their place lah, cuz I was driving! Oi!

Then my 3rd terrible experience was Parking.. I juz can't do it well without the poles.. I was practising at the multi-storey carpark near my place, and thankully there wasn't many cars lining up behind my car.. muhahah... I tried once, but it took very long. Dear encouraged me to try another time, then he himself showed me how to do it... Dear has been very encouraging and patient with me eversince I got my license, giving me a lot of driving and learning opportunities. I felt very touched and appreciated that cuz he was quite impatient with me when previously I asked him about driving techniques. I will work harder and get myself familiar with Auto-car, and we will proceed to the Expressway once I am good on the normal roads ok?

(If you need me to warn you before I go on the Expressway, let me know ok? )
