Today is the 1st part of our marriage preparation course organized by
Fei Yue Community Services and MCYS. Initially I was filled with
excitement and was looking forward to this course, but then when I saw
Dear who was quite tired and bored during the first few parts, I really
wondered if I had "forced" him to come and resulting unsatisfaction
from him. A bit moody at first...

Also for our first part of couple discussion, he dun seem to make much
efforts in writing his "Love Declaration" while I wrote a lot on it! So
in the end, the lecturer asks us to discuss on the priority factors
that we find important to us, we din discuss much cuz he din even write
any much on it!
Luckily gradually there was some improvement and Dear did make more
efforts and we share of our own views of "Our Marriage" and "Ideal
Marriage" through drawings. It was quite fun as we have to present to
the class. As usual, his version is a simple kind, but always wont fail
to make the class laugh. We bring our drawings back with us and we will
keep it for memorial.

Also, we discuss about our individual goals, couple goals and family
goals. For our individual goals, we r totally different, but I am glad
that for the other 2 types, ours are quite similar
This shows that we think alike for our future plans. One part of the course is to us "I" instead of "You" in our
conversation for an unhappy instance, we infer from our recent quarrel
that we had. It enables us to clear up the misunderstanding and also
understand more from the other party's point of view, and we felt
better after that.

Probably have to try practising using more of "I" instead of "You" in the future.
We also discuss about "communication", and one part of it is
"appreciation". Then the lecturer asks us to tell each other of how we
appreciate each other, and I felt quite touched and happy hearing from
him.
The last part is to do the evaluation test called "FOCUS", which
would reflect feelings about our own self and the other person. The
test results will be out next session. Let's see how it goes! Hope we
will have better progression from here!
