With this story behind, with the social meaning it carries, yesterday we drove all the way to Simei Eastpoint Mall to have a try, and to show support to them.
<On the way there, we had a 有惊无险 experience with a cement mixer truck... Our small young Red Tanker, and 2 frail lives inside it almost got banged by a reckless cement mixer truck which was turning in to a small road when we were tryin to u-turn out... *shivers*>
Despite the scare we had, we continued our journey, looking for this unfamiliar shopping centre. Finally found it!
Their speciality is cheese baked rice.. Mostly western food.. So we chose the speciality, with different combi of ingredients. Its not about the food that I am going to mention here. Its the people there. We are not lookin at them with a different angle, neither despising. And they are all very friendly and nice people when they served us the food. One young boy of 10 years old whom I want to mention here. He was helping out at the cafe, and despite his dirty t-shirt and apron (typical young boy
), he has a welcoming smile and attitude. He approached us while we were eating the cheese baked rice, asking us "How is the food?" ... "Enjoy your dinner", with clear spoken English. I am very surprised by his courage to speak to strangers in a very confident way. Not many 10-year-olds can do that. I remembered I'd problem approaching strangers and talking to them in such way! He is a real professional kid. I am not sure if he is one of the delinquents whom the chef is helping. I hope he is not. But even if he is, I believe he is a good and 有上进 boy.
