GE Run 2008 - Our 2nd run!

Suling & I have completed our 2nd run together this year - The Great Eastern (''GE'') Run !!

Other than liking the color of the running tee, and the running route, and the fact that the 5km run starts later so that I can sleep in more (haha..), other aspects of this run suck! (but of cuz the companion is still the best!! hee...) The goodie bag la, the logistics la, the spontaneity la..all can't compared to Shaperun. Even the water station at the 2.5km point, its all jammed up with runners trying to get their water. This will slow us down! In the end we just carried on so that we can beat the crowd. I talk as if we very chiong, actually this time we very lax..haha... we started joggin at the start, then walked most of the middle part, then lastly chiong for the last 1km to the finishing point. Timing was worse than previous time, but hack! no one cares... haha...

These are some of the photos I took when we started walking and chatting along the F1 track area..hee...

And lastly... the shagged look of us after we chiong-ed for the final leg... (Can you see that we barely can keep our eyes opened?)
But don't worry. We rewarded ourselves with a hearty breakfast @ Cafe Cartel after that.. Hee... re-loading all the carbos, calories and fats back into our body..

Company Teambuilding

Had my very first company teambuilding event after so many years of working. Finally felt a sense of (permanent) belonging to a company, passionate about my job and energized by the team and company's synergy. The teambuilding is held at Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve.

I've heard of this place but have never got my ass off to explore this place. Me went there with my family many many years ago.... Sounds like a "terrible" place to explore on a hot Saturday afternoon. Argh!

Surprisingly, this team event turned out fine and I got to know a few more unfamiliar faces in my company. We'd great teamwork, and we didn't turn up last according to our goal. Our team is called "Super Troopers" and had to come up with a cheer before the start of the race. Haha...

Anyway, here's some pics from the teambuilding event. Hope this has helped in fostering the colleagues' bonding with one another.

Singapore Flyer Trip with Friends

Purposely chosen to take the Singapore Flyer ride at evening time so that we can capture the setting sun. Before we set off for the trip, the weather threatened to rain. Luckily the weather was real bright and clear when we reached the Singapore Flyer.

Had four tickets so jio the other couple friend - The Mustaqims, together for the ride. Had a lot of fun time taking lotsa photos - comical ones, artistic ones, couple-couple ones, buddy-buddy ones. Also tried Popeyes Chicken & Biscuit for dinner for our first-time.

At night, we invited them to our house for Wii-ing and it was so funnie watching the hubbies playing boxing with each other. Full of "action-packed" and my hubby was KO! Boo... He has to try harder next time. : P

It was a great bonding time for both couples : )

Happy News

One of my closest friends is 3 months' pregnant!!!!! I am so happy and excited when I saw the news from her blog...I was so touched that emotions inside me are churning, eyes welling with tears, and so excited that I felt my mind was blank...

She's physically so far away from us..yet I hope to give her my blessings personally... Anyway, she's a phonecall away...

I really hope to see her growing tummy, her development as a mum-to-be, and share the joy she feels...

This is so motivating..at least they have a baby after trying not too long... I was always worried that we might not conceive after trying for short while... I duno how the agony of waiting will be, if that's happen... maybe I am thinking too much... but you never know when God will bless you with a baby.. soon or later?

Conceptionmoon

A new concept that I learnt from www.Babycenter.com - Conceptionmoon

How do conceptionmoons work?

Scientists aren't exactly clear on why stress mucks up the works, but whatever the cause, the effects are pretty clear. Research, like a 2004 study published in the journal Fertility and Sterility, shows that women who regularly worry about things like work or money problems are significantly less likely to conceive than those who don't.

Vacations are about relaxation, so it makes sense that some folks are now combining getting away from it all with something more purposeful. And as far as our survey is concerned, a conceptionmoon looks like a winner. Of the more than 1,000 BabyCenter members surveyed, 40 percent of those who took conceptionmoons conceived while on vacation.

With a success rate like that, conceptionmoons could move from being a new trend to a pre-baby must-do right up there with eating right, knowing when to say when, and tossing your birth control.

Haha... This new concept caught my eye cuz I guess this is part of the reason/plan for the Taiwan trip in November... hee...

Possible to have a "Made in Taiwan"??
