The Toddler Kayla: 15 - 16 months

15-16 mth old:

- Able to use the TV remote and switch the TV on/off by herself
- Saying "Wah" in exclamation! (so expressive)
- Not only climbing Down, now also climbing UP the sofa and bed
- Able to feed herself with a spoon more steadily, but still need support occasionally.

- Able to construct simple sentences by that we can understand (eg Mama um = mama eat; 这个poh= 这个是pooh)
- Learning to hold the toothbrush and try to brush her teeth by herself
- Likes talking on her toy phone, and using different kind of objects (e.g. remote control) as her toy phone!

- Having more meltdowns due to toddler's frustrations inside her (e.g. Shouting loudly NO! In reply to us, hurling things on the floor in frustrations, crying loudly when taking away the toy from her in shopping centre). All these are quite common to happen during toddler stage when they are 1-3 yrs old as they can't express what they want. This is a very challenging period for us as we need to set limits and ground rules for her, yet not be overbearing & screaming parents, or over-giving in to her which may result to a over pampered tyrant in future. We need to be in control, stay composed & guide her the proper way to behave. I will always try to observe what she is trying to tell us, and hope that it will reduce her frustrations and the resulting behaviour.

Events in November:

6 Nov 2010: Cousin Dyan's 3 years old birthday party @ the Gymboree!

20 Nov 2010: Eiman's 1 year old birthday party @ the Hort Park!

21 November 2010: Gymboree Trial Class

28 Nov 2010: Chloe's 1st year old birthday party @ The Chevrons!

Sentiments 2009

My 2009 is an EXCITING & FULFILLING year for me...

After carrying Kayla for 40 weeks inside me, I finally become a mother on 26 July 2009.

It was not easy as a new mother starting from day 1 after she arrived to this world... Doing confinement and taking care of a newborn baby seemed to be the toughest moment I'd encountered. Without the support of my hubbie, I wouldn't have survived the 1st month, and also managed to breastfeed Kayla successfully. I am grateful for his endless support since the very 1st day even till now.

Moving on to the 2nd, 3rd, and now Kayla is growing well and strong in her 4th month! How time flies! Sometimes when I look back and try to recall the beginning times, the memories seem blurry...haha... How weird! Maybe the happiness as a mother now has over-ridden those lack-of-sleep zombie days, and those non-stop-crying-frustrating days bah. The joy of having her in our life, and seeing her growing and developing everyday makes our life so much fulfilling. It is good to have her in my arms, cuddling her, talking to her, smiling to her, listening to her baby talk, watching her play, witnessing her sleeping in peace...

My life won't be complete without her existence.

And now with friends around me also becoming new parents, I will try to render my support and lend a listening ear to them as much as possible, especially I've went through the tough stage myself. It's fulfilling to know that our tips/advice helps them and make things easier for them as new parents. We will be on the same path from now onwards, so support for one another is very important.

Let's look forward to a better 2010, together with our new bundle of joy bah!

Mummy Yammie's 27th Birthday

What is it about Birthdays, when you grow older every year?

It's not so much about Birthday Cakes, blowing Birthday Candles, singing of Birthday Song, (still must make Birthday Wish la! Very important!) but more of friends/ex-colleagues remembering your Birthday and sending you their heartfelt wishes, regardless early or late...

~Well-wishes from my in-laws.~

Hubbie is very jealous & bu shuang cuz they forgotten about his birthday this year for DAYS, while they remember mine on the exact day! haha... I even got an extra pressie, other than the birthday ang pow...

Or like this...

~Birthday Card & scrapbook accessories from my Ah Neo Neo!~

Most importantly...Having my hubbie to celebrate my birthday with surprise & programmes...

~Flowers-in-a-watering-can + giraffe plush received in office on 2nd July 09.~

Totally unexpected of this birthday gift for this year...Always thought it might be a Precious Moments figurine (Family with new born baby figurine). But of cuz I am still happy to receive this surprise from hubbie, touched by his words on the card.

I like to tell hubbie is that, being pregnant with our beloved baby girl, all hardship is worth it. Thank you for taking up all the housework responsibility for the past few months, and also the new additional responsibility as Father in the upcoming future...

Programmes planned by Hubbie on 3 July 09:

~English Afternoon Tea Buffet @ Goodwood Park Hotel~

Having Fun with the Choc' Fondue

A Birthday Surprise arranged by Hubbie that caught me off-guard, and moved with tears...
I got a bit over-emo when the waitress brought over the cake with the candle on it, saying that this is arranged by my husband, with the Birthday Song played by the pianist in the background....

Suddenly I teared...moved with tears... the same scenario when he proposed to me with his knees down on the floor 4 years ago, also on my birthday.

He is the wonderful Man in my life... I am very fortunate to have met him, fallen in love with him, married to him and now, having his (our) first baby...

Birthday Celebration with the Sistas

Date/Day: 27 June 09 (Sat)
Venue: Mandarin Oriental @ The Melt Cafe

Started the day freshly-bathe and a good mood, which got damaged by a stupid cab driver!

Me decided to take a cab to the hotel because there's no straight bus from my area, and also I want to minimize walking and perspiring. Little do I know that there's a roadblock in Marina area due to NDP rehearsal, and that stoopid cab driver missed a turn towards Temasek Ave, and drove straight to S'pore Flyer where the road block starts!!! In the end he has to drop me there and I have to walk almost 200m from the S'pore Flyer to the hotel!!!!!!!!! He is a stupid cab driver!! I shouldn't have trusted him thinking that he will know the road directions better than me!

Anyway, heard good reviews about this buffet so decided to try. A little disappointed cuz there are no fresh seafood spread, but anyway I can't eat them (for fear of bacteria contamination) while at pregnancy stage, so i din lugi after all..haha..I must definitely go and have a proper buffet, with fresh seafood, sashimi after I give birth!!

Ate more of the cooked food (Asian delights), skipped the Indian food delights, and gobbled up the nice desserts~ (thou can't stomach the delicious looking cakes in the end so din manage to try..)

At the sushi counter - As the tomago sushi touches the raw fish sushi, I politely requested for the sushi chef to make a fresh tomago sushi for me. He is so inflexible and rejected my request, saying he has to go by the book la, cannot lor. So stupid!

Despite there's no cake, no birthday song singing, no wishes making, its a nice lunch gathering with the sistas. Had a very filling buffet lunch and feelin' so stuffed after that.

Thanks sistas for the birthday angpow! Much to go into my baby furniture purchases...

Birthday Gathering with XMS Badminton Girls

Combined both Huijing (May birthday girl) and my (July birthday girl) in this birthday gathering.

Got to know that Huijing is now more than 6 months old pregnant with Junior Lam and its a boy! Was guessing if she's pregnant when at Wanling's wedding in May but decided to wait for her to announce the good news. Now its so obvious that no need to announce liao..hee.. She's due in Sep. So happy that we've 3 little moo-moos in our team ( Teris had her baby in April, mine in July, and hers in Sep) .. It's so wonderful to receive such good news and Baby Yam is going to have so many new friends!

Although we didn't have any birthday cake or blow any candles this year, I still hope both of our heartfelt wishes will come true!

NTUC Income SRC D&D: Blackjack Shanghai Night

This is my first year attending Dear's company's D&D...with a big tummy! Past few years have attended together with him, but this time round, together with Baby Yam inside my tummy! Can't really dress up cuz restricted by the choice of clothes, shoes I can wear. Also affected by my bloated double-chined face, and body... No mood to really dress up lah. Juz picked a dress from the wardrobe and add some simple makeup and accessories, and off I go to the party!

As usual, the emcee for the night by Stagewerkz is real funny and RA (that makes him funny!) He also looks like an Ah Beng Botak!

What irks us most is an aunty ang-moh looking entertainer who looks like ah-gua(?) and is horny and desperate!!! She asked 2 single, and unattached men to go up to the stage, and started fondling their hair, chest, and even pulled/unbuttoned their top, revealing their bare chest and 那两点!!!! Aiyo!!!! So 恶心!!! 老牛吃嫩草哦....

Oh we also took a couple picture at their photography booth there, by professional photographer. Both of us look so chubby in the picture!!! Well, I am pregnant, so I have valid reason to look chubbier..but not the same goes for my hubby.. wahaha... We have to strive to slim down together after I give birth, and resume our looks many years back : P

A Welcome Gift for Klaske Le Jia Van

My dear good old friend Teris gave birth to a lovely princess, Klaske Le Jia Van Den Bos, on 18 April 2009

When she was first born.. So chubby right?

Few weeks old.. Such a lovely princess!

Aunty Tianxin made a simple card with my minimum scrapbooking skills, for Princess Klaske and also included a gift of baby's cap & pair of mittens which bear the words " Welcome to the World!"

"Welkom In De Wereld" - This is dutch translation of "Welcome to the World!"
(Used google translator one..hee.. Hope its correct!)

Hope Klaske will like it!

Sentosa Outing on Good Friday 2009

Dear's colleagues organised an outdoor outing @ the Sentosa on the Good Friday holiday. The suggested activities are frisbee-ing, volleyballing & picnic-ing. Being pregnant, of cuz I can't do the first 2 activities, but I can definitely do picnic-ing! haha... Pigging in fact  It wasn't much of a picnic cuz we dun have a nice picnic mat. We just brought some foods, tibits & drinks on our own & make it a picnic (without the mat!)

Out J.Co donuts contribution to the picnic

Us on the way to Sentosa...

Just Us...

The Group Pics

The guys getting active & sweaty under the scorching sun (with the threatening of the dark gloomy clouds appearing...)

While tai-tai Mama Yam sat under this sheltered Cabana @ Cafe Del Mar.. hee...

Cafe Del Mar
I like the Cabana style, and even the beds under the umbrella, thou they are all quite dirty. Need to put a towel before lying down on them. Anyway, we are supposed to have minimum purchase of $200 if we use the cabana, but they are somehow flexible. In the end all of us only ordered a drink that costs around $5-$6.

After their sweltering games, the guys decided to cool down with drinks in the cabana and some card games.

Oh no.. It's pouring cats & dogs...

Everyone has to take shelter in a big porch, and the guys started psp-ing while I stare into blank space lor..

Teck San took a picture of Baby Yam while we waiting for the rain to stop...

Had a great holiday spent in Sentosa, cuz I can rest and relax by the beach with a book and drink in hand. Dear also had fun with the guys, complete with a good sweat! That's the kind of holiday I like and look forward to nowadays... Except the rain is quite dampening mood la.. The whole day outside is quite tiring for me too..
