Left there by the HDB screeding workers
Now we have approached nearer to the start of our renovation.. But before any reno works can start, we had gotten the HDB to do the checking of defects in our house, and do to the screeding works in our 3 bedrooms.
We also met up with both the Electrician and the Interior Designer to discuss about our electrical points - to remain, to move or to remove...Well, it comes up to the total bill of $1800 for all the shifting, adding of electrical points!! OH MY GOD!! But we have the assurance from our ID that the Electrician - Ah Xiong, is a trustworthy guy,and the prices are reasonable..He has given us some discount too...No choice lor..
Today we met up with our ID and had a LONG discussion session, of the following items:
1) Choosing of colors (whole house)
2) Choosing of pebblewash (for foyer area and U-Box floor area in living room)
3) Choosing of 3 bedroom doors & handle
4) Choosing of laminate flooring for 3 bedrooms
5) Confirming of bathroom wall and floor tiles
6) Discussing the details on kitchen cabinets, wardrobe cabinets, divider and feature wall designs
Very taxing... Will lose myself in the midst of it at times cuz too much details!!
Things to be done within these 2 weeks:
1) Buy System 3 aircon, Cooker Hob & Hood, Sink, Vanity Basin, Storage Heater, Bathtub
2) Apply for electricity and water with PUB
3) To confirm loan with RHB
So busy and packed within such a short period!! Think both are us are real stressed up, mentally, physically and financially!! Hopefully as what the ID says, after these 2 weeks, will be slightly less rushed. We are rushing now cuz everyone tries to avoid the Lunar 7th month..
Things to settle after these 2 weeks:
1) Buy lightings
2) And other stuffs that we have not known yet.haha...
Wah, a new home in the making... Sounds like a lot of work... But luckily you are organized and meticulous hehe...
ReplyDeleteHey girl, if you have the time, go down and choose your own lights. Cos the lighting shops will mark up the price when you go down with the ID. It's usually 20% more. I've learnt my lesson (for the sanitary stuff). So went to Balestier on my own to choose my own lights. Paid only about $300 for the whole house.
ReplyDeleteCan I know which lighting shop did you go to? If you recommend it, I will make a trip to see myself. How many down lights (PLC) did u buy in total? Any hanging lights for dining area?
ReplyDeleteI went to Lighting Arcade at Balestier. They are quite friendly. However, I don't have any PLC or hanging lights. Cutting cost. So only normal lights. 1 living, 1 kitchen, 3 rooms, 2 toilets and 1 storeroom. Oh ya, don't buy those butterfly tubes one. Those don't have safety stickers and cannot be bought at places like NTUC.
