Papa & Mummy Yammie are tired..
How time "flies". Baby Kayla is now 2 weeks old. Day in day out both Papa & Mummy Yammie are busy fussing over the baby, and the house. Especially we've "fired" our confinement nanny mid of this week, reason being that she has started to show bad attitude especially after we give her some feedback. She even vented it out by not washing the milk bottles thoroughly. This is one of the infuriating things that we have to bear with her. There was a time whereby Dear wanted to carry the baby when she was crying, and he even say out twice, but she ignored him totally! How frustrating that is! We are the baby's parents, so we have the priority and the right to carry the baby and soothe her when she cries. We feel its a pressure having her to continue staying with us, especially she takes care of the baby totally at night. So we asked her to leave after speaking to the agency. We felt more relieved, although more tired now as we have to do everything by ourselves, without her posing as a "threat" in the house. Other than only us, we have my mother-in-law and cousin-in-law helping to cook and clean the house every now and then. Really appreciative of them rendering help to us even at last minute's notice.
So with the confinement nanny not around, we have to take up the responsibilities to take care of the baby earlier - for e.g. bathing the baby, changing diapers, dressing and undressing the baby, coaxing the baby to sleep, waking up for night feeds etc. It's not easy for both of us, especially with the baby crying so loudly when we are slower in our actions. It's also heart aching having to hear the baby crying so pathetically, with her whole body and face turing red, when she seems to be scared.. How we wish we know how to pacify her in the right way, and not causing her so much distress...
Other than the above, Baby Kayla also have her updates! She has more cutesy facial expressions now, and sleeps lesser in the daytime now. Of cuz she is more demanding in her milk intake and despite my milk production has gradually increased, I have still not yet catch up with her demand yet! So breastfeeding her is such a long & tiring process...Without the constant encouragement and support from Dear, I would really want to give up and just give her formulae milk instead.
We need a good long sleep and I badly need a breather soon (coped in the house for the past 2 weeks which is considered a very long period for me liao
). How nice when we can just shut ourselves inside the room and just not bother about anything (but can we?)
That's the "duties" of new parents I guess.

After 1 week of being new parents...
1 week has passed since we elevated to the status of new parents. It was a frenzy and crazy and tiresome week, with all the feedings - whether direct or expressing (my duty), washing and sterilising the milk bottles and pump (Dear's duty). Other than that, we are now trying to achieve more time in carrying our baby, instead of always the confinement nanny doing it, as we are afraid that the baby will get more used and attached to the confinement nanny.
Talking about the confinement nanny, initially she has been a very great help and always providing experienced advice to us. But now she is starting to show a bit of "experienced attitude" whenever we feedback certain things to her. As parents, of cuz we would prefer to provide the best for the baby, but for them, its more on doing the most efficient way such that they have more time to either do other tasks around the house or get more rest. From her viewpoint, we can understand why she's doing it in such way. But hopefully she can show less attitude when we talk to her nicely. She even ignore my husband when he says to her twice that he wants to carry her!!! Ridiculous right? Now we are worried cuz we still have her around the house, taking care of the baby while we rest for the next 2 and 1/2 weeks... How?
So now I really hope we can get more hands-on in taking care of the baby ourselves, and hopefully my confinement month can be over reallllllll soonnnnnnn.... Can't take it any longer liao! Cannot have a proper bath lah, keep perspiring lah, have to keep drinking those tonics lah, have to wake up earlier and have a full day event of feeding baby. Now even have to tolerate a tightly-wrapped tummy for my jamu slimming session. Its not easy walking like a stiff mummy while tryin to breastfeed. Even Dearie gets tired-out with all the routine daily tasks revolving around the baby...
We miss our good old days whereby we snuggle inside our air-conditioned room, watching tv la, talking to each other la.. We badly need a break - away from everything...

Everything started on the 26th July ....
My life began to change starting from 26th July onwards but I simply have no time & energy to blog down the detailed happenings & my up-and-down emotions of a new mom.
Nevertheless I am grateful for the support & help from the closest one in my life - my dearest hubbie who have to sacrifice his sleep over many logistics at home (setting up the nursury room) & also being my best partner in the labour ward. And not forgetting my in-laws & the confinement nanny who have been helpin us a great deal during my confinement.
Many things come unfamiliar especially dealing with a hungry & crying baby, but are starting to fall into place gradually. It's really not easy but we have to learn & cope. Simple theory as it is.
For all the good things that happen to us, I thank the God's blessings...

39 weeks: Still waiting...1 more week to go
At 39th week, Little Yammie is a whopping 3kg baby now! Woh! Finally she has finally reached the targeted weight we have for her. Despite her position is really low, as there is 0cm cervix dilation, we do not forsee her to be out this weekend. However, there could always be surprises, as the gynae says! haha.. But I guess hoping her to be out on the 27th may not be highly possible liao.
Today's visit is a little special. One of my primary school chums is back for holidays and she came with us for the gynae scan. The image on the screen isn't very clear now as the baby is almost taking up most of the amniotic fluid space, and the gynae has to point out the various features and explain to her. I am sure this is a very exciting experience for her, right?
I started my maternity leave officially, so I can rest more at home now. In order to induce labour, I still have to walk, walk, and walk... Ok, will put that into my resting-at-home schedule.
I will still be waiting...waiting...for Little Yammie to arrive...

38 weeks (Part 2) - First leak of breast milk
This is a (private) entry for records purpose.
Also at my 38th week of pregnancy, I'd my first leak of breast milk! It started that fateful day whereby I felt pain at one side of my breast. I massaged it, then noticed a blob of translucent-then turned murky water forming on top of my nipple!
On another day, another few more of such blobs of breast milk (should be called colostrum) started to appear on another side of the breast. So funny to see such sight.
Hopefully there will be enough breast milk for the baby when she arrives.
