I am back for more updates of my new house liao!
New works for this week:
1) Laminated Feature Wall-cum-Divider (to cover the bomb shelter area and to block partial view of the entrance for *Fengshui reason)
* What Fengshui believes is that the main door and the window should not be directly facing each other, and needs some blockage in order to prevent direct loss of Qi.
2) Kitchen Cabinets

New Happenings for this week:
1) The recommended Electrician, Ah X, overcharged us on the Designer switch that he has bought for us, after we went to do our own research. He even buy the cheapest brand that costs ranging from $1.80 - $5+ , but charging us $17 per switch (including labour fees). This is way too much! Even with a $5 labour fee, per switch would not have cost more than $12 wat! We were so mad that Dear called Ah X to cham xiong (in a calmer way) while me sms our ID to complain! Since she recommended him, she should know what has happened! She answered our complaints promptly and even "reprimanded" Ah X for overcharging us. What Ah X claimed that, he bought the switch at $10+ and I think this is unbelievable! You are an experienced Electrician, and should know where to get cheaper supplies, yet novices like us can get cheaper prices than you lor! Ridiculous! I was very mad but we managed to get him to take back all the cheap brand switches back and only to charge us labour cost of $2 to put the new switches which we intend to buy ourselves! At first he wanted to charge us $5 for labour cost cuz he can't return the switches back to the shop,but we insisted on $2. If we are really mean, we will wan him to do it FOC lor! Hmmp! Actually we think that our ID is so responsive towards our complaints, partly could be bcuz my parents-in-laws are their potential customers (they have just went through measurement of the house and quotation stage) Haha... that means we have a good card in our hands lor!
2) After many rounds of walking in and out of Best Denki, Harvey Norman etc, and many researching and listening, Dear finally decided to buy his Plasma TV - PIONEER PDP-436HDG ( http://www.pioneer.com.sg/) @ the price of $4799 (Original price = $4999; Friendly discount = $200) It comes with a FREE HDMI DVD Player & 5-yr warranty (Top up $380) & a whole booklet of lucky draw!! Hahah...we will write until crazy but hope we will win something good yah! We paid using our new Diners card and is now having a 48 months instalment free promotion + 1 month waived! What a good deal! For a "careful" and indecisive Dear, this is considered a BIG purchase and a worthy and prideful one! How joyful he will be when he "boasts" around to his colleagues and friens... Hahaha...
3) The June issue of "Simply Her" has finally arrived at my doorstep, after applying for it to get the Free ChocolateFondue-cum-Deep Fryer set @ Guardian Pharmacy. It is also a worthy buy for me (To read the mag) and to for the house! Haha...
4) Funny thing is that, the world is so small! Today one guy who is from Asia Excel where we have bought the kitchen sink from, is here to collect back the temporary sink. And much to Dear's and his surprise, Dear was his officer during NS! Haha...that guy was saying," Oh that's ur unit ah!" What a small world huh?
