Embarking on a New Year journey

10...9...8.....3..2..1...Happy New Year!

The last few hours of 2007 have been spent in the midst of 碰啊! 吃啊! 胡啊!  Guess clever people should have known by now what we were busy involved in bah..haha... This is my new found hobby in year 2007 and I am glad that I have managed to learn the basics and master the skill..most importantly, I enjoy playing it! Hahaha... (Of cuz' playing with the people I am comfortable with la...)

Lookin' back at year 2007, these are the accomplishments I have achieved and am proud of:

1) Learning driving and getting my license on 1st test attempt, within a year
- I have always thought women being able to drive is a very 了不起的事. Especially for someone like me who has always been not confident of my coordination skills, mental agility skills and fast reflexes skills, it has been a booster to my confidence when I achieved it! I will continue to work hard and practice more of my driving and parking skills, and be a proud woman driver!

2) "Co-habiting" with my life-long partner
- We have lived with each other for more than a year, and the path wasn't that smooth sailing initially. Sharing of housework (I know...its "unequal" sharing relationship as he always take the bulk of the chores..hee...), own private space vs our shared space, communication with each other w/o misunderstanding each other's intentions or meaning etc... This has not been easy as I have come to taste the bitter side of it before.. Thank goodness towards the later part of the year, things improved and I get to taste the sweet side of our "co-relationship".. No wonder people always say marriage is a symbolic of 酸甜苦辣. How true it is!

3) Meaningful Friendships
I have forged meaningful friendships in yr 2007.  One of them is my hubby's clique of colleagues whom we hang out together more often. For e.g. Bi-weekly Friday's Mahjong sessions, most recently are movie dates, makan sessions, etc. I find them a very sincere and fun group of people to hang around with, and very happy to befriend them thru' Dear!
Not forgetting the 'old' friendships which we have been keeping up - My sisters, my primary sch chums and Teris's poly mates. These meaningful friendships make my life merrier, and happier

Now lookin' forward at year 2008, I hope to improve on the below aspects:

1) My Career
- I am glad to have found a job that allows me to knock off work on time, and able to set the setting sun upon going home, however, the job is only temporary and doesn't offer security and benefits. Therefore, I hope I can find a more stable job in the new year and have more benefits and bonuses... I have lost out on all these for a year and seeing people around me getting their fat bonuses and recognition in their job, I feel really down... I hope to catch up on all these in the brand new year... Other than finding a stable and well-paying job, I hope I can learn more along my interests and capabilities such that I will become more useful and knowledgeable person. I do not wish to be just a Tom, Dick or Harry with superficial working skills.

2) Family Planning
Only with my career settling down, then we can move on further on our family planning. Wanted to have a "Mickey/ Minnie Mouse" for our family this year, but wondering if that could be realised... Sigh...

Nevertheless, I had a good Pig year in 2007 and hope to have a better Rat year in 2008!
