It was ard 6+a.m. that we left the house and headed towards West along ECP, that I managed to captured the Singapore Flyer lighted up. hee...
When I reached Janet's house ard 6.45 a.m., I was the earliest jie-mei and the bride already had her makeup done. As her chaperon, I helped her with the gown and try to stay by her side and assist her when she required.
The games were fun and I relished the good times when I was a jie-mei. The banana-soccer game was the most fun as it "evokes" imagination. I also brought along my hullahoop secretly (w/o lettin my hubby who is also one of the brothers know) and make them do hullahoop! Ha! The boys were real bad at it, just as I thought they were! :P
Went out to the labrador nature reserve for some outdoor photoshoots and mozzie bitting session..luckily i only kena one bite. It was a sweltering hot weather and I was having a sore throat. No complaints though. I enjoyed watching the couple taking photos and them having fun!
After lunch at the bride's house, we headed home for a short rest before going to Grand Copthorne hotel for the night's preparations. Actually I wasn't of any much help as I was not required at the reception nor the banquet. So basically I tried to fulfill my duty as the chaperon and accompany her while she awaited to go down. Hope that helps :P
It was especially touching when both Mus & Janet delivered their Thank You speech in 3 different languages - English, Mandarin & Malay. Both learning in each other's culture and language, and yearning to be accepted in both world's of different culture. I see the efforts, I see the results, I see the sincerity in both of them. Most importantly, I feel the love between them...The Greatest of all... While I listened to "Prime Minister Mus" delivered his Chinese speech, I was laughing so hard that my eyes kept welling (also, I was deeply touched when he said to his MIL that "Today you are not marrying away your daughter, but you are also having another son-in-law") I couldn't understand Janet's Malay speech, so... sorry Janet, no comments..hee
The first march-in was indigenous. As Janet is part of the dragonboat team, her teammates got their paddles ready and raise them up as they strolled in the long long aisle.... I really admired their strength to carry the paddle up so firm and long...nobody wavered at all! Real majestic scene! I luv it! The second march-in was supposing to be having bubbles blown by Mus's young nephews and nieces. Somehow they seem to be in the unknown when the couple started marching in, and only midway down the aisle, they quickly get into the line and starting blowing.. But how cute they are! So innocent....
Grand Copthorne's food was nice and their grand ballroom is real BIG and spacious and grand! Simply love it!
I got to know Janet better for the past few months, and I also got to know a great bunch of jie-meis thru this wedding preparation. I hope everyone had a great time, just like I did!
Forever blissful, my dear Mr & Mrs Mustaqim...
